History and System
Mathematical competitions in Slovenia have been held since 1956, when it was a part of former Yugoslavia. They reorganized the competition system after gaining independence in 1991. The National MO was estalished in 1993 and is held in two rounds, each round consisting of four problems for each of grades 1 to 4 in high school. The second (final) round is held in April.
Slovenia at International Competitions
Slovenia has participated at the IMO since 1993. The team is selected through a selection test that seems to be independent from the National MO. In the recent history the best success of the team at the IMO was the 34-th place in 2000.
