# IMOmath

This is not the official site for the International Mathematical Olympiad. The official site is imo-official.org.

This site contains information, problems, and preparation materials for math olympiads, and in particular IMO. It started out as a project to collect IMO shortlists and longlists. We did that, wrote a book The IMO Compendium, and then developed the site with other useful resources.

You can now find preparation materials, practice tests, and variety of homework’’ assignments.

The problems here may appear difficult and unusual for those who are new in problem solving. Don’t get discouraged - it takes a lot of time and practice to get to the level of IMO. We hope to soon include introductory problems and topics, to properly introduce everyone in math problem solving.

This topic in the the forum is open to your questions, bug reports, and suggestions for improvement.

Sir,
Can we get pdf versions of the training materials as we used to enjoy previously? As, it is not possible every to be online to read them, and the pdfs were much better(according to me).

I have all of the pdfs of IMOMath (except the Combinatorics one)and they have been a great help for me till now.
Thanking you

We are now working on improving the grammar and exposition in those old texts. The difficulty with pdfs is that they cannot be easily edited by other users. Our idea is to allow the users of this site to edit the texts as they find mistakes or better ways to explain math.

You are right that pdfs are convenient because they allow for printing and offline usage. We will create pdf files once the texts get improved.

We have received several requests for these old files. However, if we keep them on the site, the search engines are indexing these files (which are no longer maintained) rather than the up-to-date texts of the new project. In order to resolve this issue, we have placed the old pdfs in the members only section of the website. If you are logged in, you are able to access the files, but please do not link to them.
