History and System
Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad has been held since 1979. It is organized in three rounds, each round being divided into juniors and seniors. In some of the early years even the final round was not entirely the same in all provinces, as one of the problems was usually selected by local juries.Brazil at International Competitions
Brazil has participated at IMO since 1979 and at Iberoamerican MO since its foundation 1985. In the recent history the best success of the team at an IMO was the 16-th place in 2001. The team to the international competitions is selected through (used to be two) selection examinations.Problems
