Problem Collection for South Korea
History and SystemThe main competition in South Korea is Korean Mathematical Olympiad which started in 1987. It used to consist of two rounds for high schools, the first round (two 3-hour sessions) being held in November and the final round (in the IMO format) in April. The system was slightly reorganized in 2003 when a junior ``middle schools’’ category was introduced and a preliminary round added, so that the ``first’’ round was renamed the ``second’’.
